Desperate Housewives star
was getting quite cozy with Ready for Love bachelor Ernesto Argüello,
Longoria has now officially gone public with their romance.
The actress' rep confirms that the two are an item, and Longoria herself gushed to People about her new beau.
"I think that's why our relationship is so special—we truly started as friends," the 38-year-old actress tells the mag.
"I guess we have the press to thank for pushing us to see something we didn't see!" Longoria added.
A source, meanwhile, tells E! News: "She just got back from meeting his family. The two are very serious as he is crazy about her."
The actress had been an executive producer on Ready for Love, a reality dating show that aired on NBC and featured the 34-year-old Argüello. He ended up selecting former Miss USA Shandi Finnessey, but their hookup fizzled out last year.
After tongues first began wagging about a possible romance, Longoria repeatedly denied that she and the Miami Beach entrepreneur were dating.
"WHAT?! AGAIN? Sorry guys, still not dating @ernestoarguello Who are these 'sources'??" the brunette beauty, who had previously been married to San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker, tweeted in April after the two were spotted going for a spin in her Bentley convertible in Los Angeles.
An eyewitness later told E! News: "At one point she was resting her head on his shoulder, it was very sweet...Eva seemed really happy." After a little while of driving around, the two supposedly hightailed it back to her house, where Argüello reportedly spent the night.
The sightings didn't stop there: A few days later, the duo arrived together at a viewing party for Ready for Love in Los Angeles, where, by all accounts, the two appeared to keep things chaste, if affectionate. "They were not kissing or holding hands, but they did look cozy and were sitting next to each other," a source told E! News.
E! News has also learned that Argüello attended Longoria's May 22 graduation from the Master's program in Chicano Studies at Cal State Northridge. And as recently as June 7, the two were spotted shopping for art on La Brea together.
Longoria isn't the only one who's moved on: Ex-hubby Parker recently tweeted, rather casually, about his "fiancée" Axelle Francine, fueling speculation that he's engaged to the French journalist, whom he's been dating for two years.
